Top 10 Books on My Spring TBR

(Sorry this is a day late for Top 10 Tuesday, but there’s no rule that I still can’t post this on Wednesday, right? ;))

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s topic is Top Ten Books on my Spring TBR. I always like having these seasonal TBR lists as a guide, even if I don’t always stick with them! Here’s what I plan to read over the next couple of months, in no particular order.

P.S. I Like You by Kasie West

I started this one today. Don’t you love this cover?!

Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K. Rowling (reread)

I’ll be enjoying the illustrated edition thanks to my husband! 🙂

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling (reread)

Glamour and Glass (The Glamourist Histories #2) by Mary Robinette Kowal

I’m excited to continue The Glamourist Histories after loving Shades of Milk and Honey!

The Ringmaster’s Wife by Kristy Cambron

One of my recent e-book acquisitions I need to read before it becomes forgotten.

Befriend by Scott Sauls

After hearing Scott Sauls on Annie F. Down’s That Sounds Fun podcast I decided to get his latest book.

The Last Time We Say Goodbye by Cynthia Hand (reread)

I got this one the same time as I got Befriend and I really want to reread it. It helped me while I was revising my WIP as I explored a subject I don’t have much experience with.

Anne’s House of Dreams (Anne of Green Gables #5) by L.M. Montgomery

I have to admit that I didn’t love Anne of Windy Poplars, and I think that has cause me to push off House of Dreams longer than I’ve intended. Anne of the Island was just SO perfect. But Anne and Gilbert FINALLY get married in this, so it has to better than Windy Poplars.

These Vicious Masks by Tarun Shanker and Kelly Zekas

Another recent e-book acquisition that I have been curious about for a while!

A Curious Beginning by Deanna Raybourn

I’ve heard good things about this one, and an adult historical romance feels like a good genre to break through my usual YA fare (though my list is TBR list is actually more varied this time around!).

What are you reading this spring? Have you read any of these?

The Top 5 Books on my Summer TBR

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s topic is Top Ten Most Anticipated Releases For The Second Half Of The Year. Well I say where’s the Summer TBR week?! This happened last winter too. What gives? I need my seasonal TBRs! There’s a freebie week coming up but I didn’t want to wait until then as the official start of summer is next Monday. On to my rebel ways yet again…

1. The Long Game by Jennifer Lynn Barnes

gr-thelonggame

I really, really enjoyed The Fixer and need this sequel in my life ASAP.

2. Passenger by Alexandra Bracken

gr-passenger

The mixed reviews have kept me from buying this book, but the pretty cover keeps tempting me. Now that it’s my next book club read, I’ll be giving into the temptation!

3. Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen

gr-sense&sensibility

Carry-over from my spring TBR that I want to get to soon.

4. The Shadow Queen by C.J. Redwine

gr-shadowqueen

I’ve got this one on hold with the library and I’m curious about it. I saw C.J. Redwine at SE YA Fest and look forward to reading her work.

5. Don’t Judge a Girl by Her Cover by Ally Carter

gr-dontjudge

I’m slowly making my way through the Gallagher Girls books and this my next one to read.

I stopped at five because that’s all I can think of at the moment! Weird, right? What happened to my mountain-high TBR? I don’t know, I’m just kind of winging it these days, seeing what calls to me (or is available from the library).

The Top 10 Books On My Spring TBR

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s topic is Top Ten Books on my Spring TBR. In no particular order…

1. The Unbound by Victoria Schwab

gr-theunbound

I’ve got to read it now that I have an autographed copy!

2. Calamity by Brandon Sanderson

gr-calamity

I’m impatiently waiting for my library copy to become available and excited to see how Brandon Sanderson ends the series! (Though did you hear about the new series that is an alternate universe to what we see in The Reckoners?! WHAAAAAT.)

3. Truthwitch by Susan Dennard

gr-truthwitch

I’m one of those writers who has come to love Susan Dennard exclusively for her candidness about writing and publishing, but I’ve been meaning to read one of her books, and this is my book club’s next pick so it’s about time!

4. Looking for Lovely by Annie F. Downs

gr-lookingforlovely

Annie’s Let’s All Be Brave was in my top 3 favorite books I read last year, so I’m excited for her new book coming out next month and can’t wait to read it!

5. The Start of Me and You by Emery Lord (Reread)

gr-thestartofyouandme

I think I’ve decided to reread another one of my fave books from last year when I go on vacation in May!

6. Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen

gr-sense&sensibility

I’ve been reading one Jane Austen book a year for some time, and this is my last Jane Austen novel to read, so I want to knock it off earlier in the year rather than later.

7. On The Loose by Jenny B. Jones

gr-ontheloose

I enjoyed the first book of this series, In Between, and want to dive back into Katie’s world sometime soon!

8. The Winner’s Kiss by Marie Rutkoski

gr-winners-kiss

I’m ready to see how this trilogy ends!

9. When We Collided by Emery Lord

gr-whenwecollided

New Emery Lord! Enough said!

10. Out of the Easy by Ruta Septys

gr-outoftheeasy

Pro of reading this book: I have read all of Ruta’s books this year! 🙂 Con: I will have no more Ruta books to read for a while. 🙁

The Top 8 Books on my Winter TBR

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s topic is Top Ten Books I Wouldn’t Mind Santa Leaving Under My Tree This Year. But instead, today I’m being a REBEL and doing the Top 10 (or really 8) Books on my Winter TBR. This is a big deal for a rule follower like me…

jemma-followingrules

jemma-rebels-catiously

Jemma = me

I do have a purpose to my rebellion though. I LOVE doing seasonal TBR lists. I never follow them to the letter, but it helps me form a game plan and keep me somewhat on track with my TBR. So I was incredibly sad to to see no Top Ten Tuesday topic for our winter TBR list month! What is this blasphemy?! Winter has started, so there’s no time like the present for this list! Besides, this list includes books I am anticipating getting for Christmas. In no particular order…

1. & 2. Killer Instinct and All In (The Naturals #2 & #3) by Jennifer Lynn Barnes

naturals23

I read The Naturals over a year ago and I’m ready to continue the story!

3. The Fixer by Jennifer Lynn Barnes

gr-thefixer

If I actually follow this list, I’ll be reading a lot of Jennifer Lynn Barnes! I got this one for my birthday and still need to read it.

4. Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon

gr-everythingeverything

I’ve been moderately interested in this one thanks to the positive reviews, but now that it’s my next book club read, I’ll be reading it soon for sure!

5. Illuminae by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff

gr-illuminae

I want to read this one for the hype. And it definitely looked really interesting when I saw it in person, especially underneath that dust jacket! I’m intrigued!

6. Vicious by V.E. Schwab

gr-vicious

I bought this one a few months ago and have been meaning to read it since before then, but Victoria Schwab is coming to town (well, she’s actually local to Nashville, but I anticipate seeing her at an upcoming event in a few months) so I need to read this one and/or my next pick…

7. The Archived by Victoria Schwab

gr-thearchived

For a while I had no interest in this one, but now I do! I asked for it for Christmas, and as previously mentioned, I’d like to read something by Schwab before I see her!

8. Between Shades of Gray by Ruta Sepetys

betweenshades

I’ve been meaning to read this one for ages, and now that I own it I fully intend to do so sooner rather than later!

9 and 10 are kind of up for grabs. I have some books I own that I still need to read, books I have been thinking about grabbing from the library, or new shinies that are very likely to crop up.  Possibilities include but are not limited to…

The Top Ten(ish) Books On My TBR For Summer 2015

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s topic is Top Ten Books on my TBR for Summer 2015. So I am pretty proud of myself because I read 7 out of the 10 books on my spring TBR! I also started one of the books but put it down with the intention to eventually pick it back up (the writing book, Save the Cat by Blake Snyder) and then there’s The Hero of Ages, which I intend to start very soon. On the note, let’s start the summer TBR list, in no particular order…

1. The Hero of Ages by Brandon Sanderson

The-Hero-of-Ages

Yes, I really will read this soon.

2. The Start of You and Me by Emery Lord

gr-thestartofyouandme

All you people who talk about the cute, nerdy interactions have made me put this on my TBR.

3. The Distance Between Us by Kasie West

gr-distancebetween

I got the ebook recently and I’m ready to see what the fuss is about!

4. Under a Painted Sky by Stacey Lee

gr-underapaintedsky

I’ve heard good things about this one so I put it on hold at the library.

5. The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams

gr-hitckhiker'sguide

My dad asked me recently if I had read this yet, since he knew I had gotten it for Christmas. I had to admit I had not, and I told him I just so had much to read! But I think I’ll read it soon so I can tell him I did!

6. The Last Time We Said Goodbye by Cynthia Hand

gr-thelasttime

Another carry-over from my spring TBR, but hopefully I will actually get to it this summer.

7. Mansfield Park by Jane Austen

gr-mansfieldpark

Since the year is halfway over, I really need to think about when I am going to fit in my annual Jane Austen read, which I’m pretty sure will be Mansfield Park this time.

8., 9., and 10…?

So after this I’m not really sure. There are a lot of things I’ve thought about reading and haven’t gotten around to, so depending on library availability and mood, maybe I will get around to some of these…

summertbr1Or something from my collection that I have yet to read…
