Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s topic is Top Ten Books on my TBR for Summer 2015. So I am pretty proud of myself because I read 7 out of the 10 books on my spring TBR! I also started one of the books but put it down with the intention to eventually pick it back up (the writing book, Save the Cat by Blake Snyder) and then there’s The Hero of Ages, which I intend to start very soon. On the note, let’s start the summer TBR list, in no particular order…
1. The Hero of Ages by Brandon Sanderson
Yes, I really will read this soon.
2. The Start of You and Me by Emery Lord
All you people who talk about the cute, nerdy interactions have made me put this on my TBR.
3. The Distance Between Us by Kasie West
I got the ebook recently and I’m ready to see what the fuss is about!
4. Under a Painted Sky by Stacey Lee
I’ve heard good things about this one so I put it on hold at the library.
5. The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams
My dad asked me recently if I had read this yet, since he knew I had gotten it for Christmas. I had to admit I had not, and I told him I just so had much to read! But I think I’ll read it soon so I can tell him I did!
6. The Last Time We Said Goodbye by Cynthia Hand
Another carry-over from my spring TBR, but hopefully I will actually get to it this summer.
7. Mansfield Park by Jane Austen
Since the year is halfway over, I really need to think about when I am going to fit in my annual Jane Austen read, which I’m pretty sure will be Mansfield Park this time.
8., 9., and 10…?
So after this I’m not really sure. There are a lot of things I’ve thought about reading and haven’t gotten around to, so depending on library availability and mood, maybe I will get around to some of these…
Or something from my collection that I have yet to read…
What’s on your summer TBR?
Great choices! I love Austenland, such a good book! And the sequel ‘Midnight in Austenland’ is even better!
My TTT
Good to know; thanks!
The girl on the cover of Hero of Ages reminds me of Arya Stark. 😀 I also bought The Distance Between Us when it was on sale for Kindle, and will likely read that over the summer. Contemporaries just seem to fit the mood of the season!
Summer does seem like a good time to read The Distance Between Us and other contemporaries, I agree!
The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy is one of my favorites!
Check out my TTT.
It seems like fun!
Lots of great choices! I really want to read Illusions of Fate and The Start of You and Me this summer. But I’m not making any promises, what I plan to read and what I actually read never seem to match up! And I always love seeing Austen on a to-read list.
I understand that struggle!
Oh yes I do need to read the Start of Me and You as well! I keep forgetting that it’s on my shelves lol.
The Distance Between Us was absolutely adorable and I swooned so much!
I recommend Illusions of Fate and Faking Normal, if you can get your hands on them 🙂 Loved both!
🙂
I recently read Hitchhiker’s Guide–it was a very fun read 🙂 I also really enjoyed Mansfield Park when I read it a couple of years ago, even though it’s usually regarded as Austen’s most challenging novel. I’d also recommend Austenland 🙂
Oh, thanks for the head’s up about Mansfield Park! That’s good to know before going in! I’m thinking it might be fun to read Austenland after I finish MP. 🙂
Yes, definitely 🙂 and if you like Austenland, there’s a sequel/spin-off too that I kind of enjoyed even more.
That’s what a previous commenter said! Yay for good sequels!
The Start of Me and You is such a great book. One of my faves for this year! I hope you enjoy it! Great list also! 🙂
I’m not a big contemporary reader but I’m really hoping to enjoy it!
The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy is amusing but quite different. I have a few of Brandon Sanderson’s books on my TBR shelves but still need to get to reading them. I hope you enjoy these this summer. Happy Reading!
Here’s My TTT
The Distance Between Us! So cute 🙂
My sister recently read The Start of You and Me on an Emery Lord kick. I think she liked Open Road Summer better, but am not entirely sure of that.
I’m reading The Start of of Me and You right now and I am really enjoying it. I can’t really imagining to the characters of Open Road Summer nearly as much!
Hitchhikers is so AWESOME and funny..it’s a long series though but one of my favorites.
I’m actually reading the first book right now! I only have the first one so we’ll see if I continue, but I am enjoying this one!
