The Top 10 (Or 11) Songs I Wish Were Books

Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish. This week’s topic is  books we’d give theme songs to or 10 songs I wish that were books. I decided to make book covers based off of ten eleven songs (I was going to do 10 but had one more I really wanted to add and didn’t want to cut anything…) that I thought would be interesting YA books. I will warn you that my taste in music is pretty limited and not very hip, though I tried to list a couple artists outside my usual go-to. I also initially didn’t want to repeat artists but ended up repeating a few anyway. I created a playlist on Spotify with these 11 songs if you want to listen through them; hope you enjoy!

Also, with the exception of the image for the Renegades cover, which comes from Unsplash, all photos are from the super talented Wyn Wiley Photography.

  1. Wow Amy, this is amazing! I took this tack too but I definitely didn’t go the extra mile to make covers! It was hard enough just picking songs — I don’t think I’ve spent this much time on a blog post in a while.

“Paradise” and “Renegades” are two of my all-time favorite songs, and I LOVE Of Monsters and Men (“Dirty Paws” is on my list today). The Fray are from Colorado and when we were in college my husband and I went to their first CD release party/concert — seems like a million years ago now! Anyway, it seems we have super similar taste in music, or at least I like all the same artists you do! 🙂

  2. Great list! So creative. I am not good at this sort of thing, so it has been super cool seeing what other people did. 🙂 I sort of cheated the topic, but my list is here: TTT

  3. OMG THIS IS SO CREATIVE AND AWESOME!! I looove the one for Paradise! *flails* Seriously this is the best interpretation I’ve seen of this prompt so far. ;D Go you!

Thanks for stopping by @ Paper Fury!

  4. I’m sitting in the Toronto airport wishing that my ear phones were buried in my suitcase so I could listen to your playlist. I love your book covers!! They’re so creative and so much fun. Especially the blurbs on them – that’s just the perfect touch.
